Doctors and Guns

Out of concern for the public at large, I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.

Doctors and Guns
WHAT WE ALL SHOULD KNOW.....

Doctors:
(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.
(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.
(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health Human Services.

Now think about this:

Guns:
(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. Yes, that is 80 million.
(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500.
(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188.

Statistics courtesy of F.B.I.

Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times
more dangerous than gun owners.

Remember, "Guns don't kill people, doctors do."

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN,
BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat.
We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

Marriage?

What does it mean?
Why am I in one?
Is it going to hell?
Should I be in one?
For the Kids?
Love?
Money?
Sex?
Friendship?
Partnership?
Where would I go?
What would I do?
Why is it so hard?
Why am I such an asshole?

I suck

I only seem to blog when I am unemployed. Which has been more times in the past few years than I care to think about. The job status is good for a while, I hope...knock on wood...etc...

My blog does seem to suffer when I am working. After starring at a PC all day, looking at one when I get home is just not appealing. I nice glass of red tends to take priority. Speaking of...

Cheers!

1st week

I made it through my first week at the new job. I think I am going to like it there. I hope I can meet their expectations and get up to speed quickly. Not really to worried, though.

Enough said it's Friday!

Cheers!

SG-1

Damn! I have missed SG-1 now two Fridays in a row. I have got to get a dish with DVR. I guess I could dust off the VCR, but that just feels wrong.

Texas Holdem

I too have fallen victim to the latest craze in poker. I've never been much into poker or gambling for that matter, but with the increased exposure to Texas Holdem from the idiot box we gave it a whirl.

We did find it's more fun using actual poker chips rather than the pennies and tooth picks we started with. Tooth picks just didn't have the same appeal. Prices too have come down considerably for a nice chip set. I picked a decent 200 chip set with a wooden carousel for 20 bucks at our local Super T. It's similar to this one but half the price.

Pop that cork!

It's Friday and it's almost that time. (cue)What time is it? It's time to "Pop That Cork"! Americans favorite new home game. It can be played alone or with a friend. All you need is an un-open bottle of your favorite wine, a cork screw and a glass; preferably two for sharing.

1. To start the game you must choose the "Opener". The person who will open the bottle.
2. Next choose the "Pourer", the one is going to pour the wine.
3. Pour wine.
4. Then a toast. Something short not to delay the game.
5. Finally the taste. No gulping.
6. Repeat steps 3 and 5 until bottle is empty.
7. When bottle is empty; start over at step 1.
8. Play until your eyes are but mere slits or until you have a wardrobe malfunction.

Cheers and Happy Friday!

He looks Greek to me.

"People who are not Greek; wish they were Greek"
Gus - My Big Fat Greek Wedding

My family turns Greek every time we watch M.B.F.G.W. and when I cook Greek Chicken. I have to admit that it's pretty good. And...it is so easy to make. I tell you now:

4 boneless skinless chicken breast
3 lemons (juice)
1/2ish cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4ish cup of oregano (fresh is best, but dried will work)
4 garlic cloves
4 to 6 Yukon Gold Potatoes (peeled)
1 - can chicken broth
1 baking dish

1. Spray backing dish with non-stick spray and place in breast (the chickens.)
2. In a small mixing bowl whisk olive oil, lemon juice and oregano together. (I use a small wire strainer when squeezing the lemons to catch the seeds)
3. Quarter peeled potatoes and place around the breast.
4. Place whole peeled garlic cloves in dish.
5. Pour olive oil mix over chicken.
6. Pour enough chicken broth to bring liquid up to almost cover breast.
7. Bake uncovered at 375 for about 1 1/2 hours on middle rack until done.

This dish smells great cooking. As a bonus slice lemons thinly and place in baking dish for added lemon flavor. Potatoes should brown nicely at exposed tips. Serve with pita bread and tzatiki(cucumber sauce - super easy to make)

And there you go. Now you are Greek.

Opa!
